Blurb on the Back
Looking at the Duke Nukem Forever back cover I was suddenly confronted with the obvious answer to what I wanted the headline to be - Duke's most iconic phrase........with a slight twist!
Duke is very well known for saying "Hail to the King, Baby". It is probably his most famous quote from the first game in which he spoke, Duke Nukem 3D.
Since then the tag line has always been voiced in his later games and so not using it in mine would have been a big mistake. Especially as it will add some balance to the case since the case deals far more with the Doom theme than Duke's.
I think I mentioned before somewhere that I might have produced two case designs, one as a Doom edition and one as a Duke edition with artwork corresponding to each hero respectively. I suppose without meaning to particularly I have ended up with the "Doom" version. At least this will help to even it up a bit more.
Anyway, at the top of the case I will have in Red Lettering (or Yellow if the background image of the Demon doesn't work) Hail To The King's.
Beneath this will be a short bit about the president's (being that everything tends to be based in the US) thought's to himself.
The President sighs to himself and thinks, "Seriously, both Hell and aliens choose the same weekend to take over the Earth"! Well, the military obviously can't deal with it so there's really only one man to call".
As he reaches for the phone a sudden nasty thought occurs to him. "Could the two even work together? One thing's for certain, the enemies of Earth won't know what hit them!". A sudden frown creases his face as a new thought enters his brain, "Oh hell, who will do the most damage to the Earth, the combined forces of hell and outer space or our two heroes!".
Reluctantly he places the calls............
I really like the premise and think it will work well if I have enough space to fit it all on.
I'm starting to wonder though given all the lettering if I will have to change the back picture as I won't be able to get all that in without utilising almost the entire back cover.
